Invasive plant species pose a significant threat to every type of habitat in Kansas, endangering our natural landscapes. Discover how we can preserve our stunning wildlands for future generations.
Introduction of a foreign plant species into an environment has often led to unanticipated consequences. News services describe catastrophic damage caused by the introduction of a foreign plant species to a new habitat with none of the natural controls found in their native environment. But these are not just problems for far-off lands; the threat of invasive plant species is all around us here, and every type of Kansas habitat is under serious threat. By raising awareness of the problem here at home, I hope to encourage others to join in the effort to save our beautiful wildlands for future generations to enjoy.
