                                                                    Evening Circulation Assistant


Marketing & Outreach Coordinator

The Louisburg Library is seeking a creative, community-minded Marketing & Outreach Coordinator to join our team. This position plays a key role in connecting the library with the community through engaging marketing, communications, and outreach efforts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote library programs, services, and resources.
  • Creating print and digital materials, including social media, newsletters, press releases, and flyers.
  • Managing the library’s website and social media presence.
  • Coordinating outreach activities and representing the library at community events.
  • Building relationships with community organizations, schools, and local media.
  • Supporting staff in promoting library services to all community members.

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creativity and proficiency with graphic design, social media, and digital marketing tools.
  • Ability to engage with the public in a positive and professional manner.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Previous marketing, communications, or outreach experience preferred.

Position Details:

  • Full-time position with benefits.
  • Schedule includes occasional evenings and weekends for community events.
  • Salary commensurate with experience.



Evening Circulation Team Member

The Louisburg Library is seeking an energetic, customer-focused Library Assistant to join our team. This position plays a key role in engaging with Library patrons and ensuring smooth daily operations during evening hours.

Position Summary:
The Evening Circulation Assistant is a vital member of the Library team, providing excellent customer service to patrons. This position requires a team-oriented individual who demonstrates initiative, professionalism, and a strong commitment to serving the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist patrons in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Check materials in and out using the library’s circulation system.
  • Issue new library cards and update patron records.
  • Assist patrons with locating materials, using the catalog, and answering basic reference questions.
  • Shelve returned materials accurately and maintain orderly shelves.
  • Monitor the library environment to ensure a welcoming and safe atmosphere.
  • Assist with closing procedures, including securing the building.
  • Support and communicate effectively with fellow team members to ensure smooth library operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of the Library.


Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service skills and a genuine desire to help people.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Initiative and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn the library’s circulation software.
  • Prior library or customer service experience preferred but not required.


Schedule:
Evening shifts, with occasional weekend hours as needed.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to reach, bend, and push carts of library materials.
