The Louisburg Library was the first District Library in the state of Kansas in 1967. The board is its own taxing authority with a taxing district the same as USD 416. It is run by a seven-member Board of Trustees who are elected by the pulbic at the Annual Meeting. By statute, the Annual Meeting is held the first Tuesday in March. Members serve four-year terms and meet monthly on the fourth Thursday at 6pm in the library conference room.
Summer meetings may be rescheduled and the board may meet more than once due to the budgeting process. The November meeting is held on the third Thursday to accommodate for the Thanksgiving holiday. There is no December meeting.

The board is always looking for an energetic member who wants to serve the library district. Anyone interested in serving on the Louisburg Library Board of Trustees may complete an application and submit it to the library director.
