The library offers outreach services to community members who are unable to visit the library or lack someone to collect materials for them. We provide delivery of materials to residents at their homes, senior living facilities, or nursing centers within the library district. These services are accessible for both individuals and groups. In addition to offering year-round programs and assisting our patrons at the library, we also visit three locations in Louisburg. At the Louisburg Senior Center, we host a monthly Remembering program. Once a month, we read Short Stories at Vintage Park in Louisburg. Additionally, we make semi-annual visits to both the Louisburg HealthCare & Rehabilitation Center and Vintage Park, providing a selection of library materials for residents to browse and check out.
The Kansas Audio-Reader network is a reading and information service for blind, visually impaired and/or print-disabled individuals in Kansas and western Missouri. Services are offered free of charge to anyone in our listening area who is unable to read normal printed material.
24-hour closed circuit radio station provides readings of daily newspapers, magazines and best-selling books. Other services are available including on-demand service, special request recording, audio description of live theater and a sensory garden in Lawrence featuring Braille-labeled plants appealing to both touch and fragrance.

Kansas Talking Books provides personalized library support and materials in a specialized format to eligible Kansas residents to ensure that all my read. This free services provides: books and magazines in audio and brailled formats mailed directly to the patron (with return postage included), special equipment to access the reading materials, a varied collection of genres (fiction and nonfiction), reader advistory service via phone, and digital access to books and magazines via BARD website or BARD mobile App.
