About Henry Heckelbeck Gets a Dragon by Wanda Coven:
Henry Heckelbeck is starting a new year of school. He has a new teacher, makes new friends, and discovers that he has some magical powers of his own thanks to a Book of Spells he finds in his bedroom. But magic can be tricky and when Henry accidentally brings his toy dragon to life, his days of being a normal kid are over.
Registration is required for this event. Students must be available for all four weeks of the book club. Register in person at the library. Registration opens September 15.
Each registrant will receive a copy of the book at registration. Caregivers and students who read independently are welcome to read ahead in the story, but please bring your book to book club every week.
