Come see and meet the man who put Kansas City on the map and the Wright Brothers in the air. Bill Nicks, a local historian, will perform his 1st person re-enactment of the Great Octave Chanute. Learn about Kansas City's 1869 Hannibal Bridge, how Chanute KS got its name, how Lenexa was platted and laid out, how Mr. Chanute was contacted by Wilbur Wright for assistance, how Lincoln also called on him for help, how he is depicted in the US Capitol Rotunda and much much more.
